Who are our leaders?
| Mark Johnson Mark Johnson is PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Chief Executive in Australia and a member of the Firm Executive. He is responsible for the strategic direction of the firm and is passionate about driving exceptional client service and fostering a culture of high performance. Mark has held leadership positions with the firm for the past 14 years and has extensive experience in development and lead execution of strategy. Prior to his current appointment, Mark held the positions of National Managing Partner Businesses and Australian Assurance Leader, in addition to serving on the Global Assurance Leadership Team. An active client-facing Partner, Mark has led the audits of a number of PwC's major clients and provided a range of other related accounting, control and governance services to many of Australia's largest companies. He is a former member of the Australian Auditing and Assurance Standards Board and is currently Deputy Chairman of the Finance and Reporting Committee of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. | Paul Bendall Paul Bendall leads our Assurance practice and is a member of the Firm Executive. Paul specialises in internal audit, external audit and due diligence. Dedicated to investing in both internal and external relationships, Paul is renowned for partnering with stakeholders to resolve complex issues. A Partner with PwC since 1996, Paul has lead significant client accounts over the past ten years. Paul has spent time with PwC London, and as Managing Partner Assurance he is responsible for engaging and energising a team of over 2000 people. Paul holds a Bachelor of Economics and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia. | Derek Kidley Derek Kidley is the Managing Partner - Clients and Industries, and a member of the Firm Executive. He is responsible for PwC’s client and industry sector programs, working with the line of service and sector leaders to drive revenue growth, market share gains and margin expansion. Derek was previously the Resources Industry Sector Leader for the Australian firm responsible for mining, oil & gas and energy utilities. He joined the PricewaterhouseCoopers Energy and Utilities team in March 1997 and has extensive experience across the energy sector, focusing particularly on corporate strategy and transactions, market reform, regulation and organisational change. Prior to joining PwC, Derek held a number of senior management positions with British Gas and Centrica in the UK. These included key roles in business strategy, retail marketing, tariff development and implementation and regulatory policy. Derek is also a member of PwC’s Global Energy Council and holds a B.A. (Hons) Economics and a Master of Business Administration. | Neil Wilson Neil is the Chief Operating Officer for PwC and a member of the Firm Executive. Neil leads the Internal Firm Services function of the Australian firm, responsible for operational, financial and management support services. Neil has 24 years tax experience with PwC in Australia covering insurance, banking and finance and funds management industries. Neil has advised most major Australian insurance companies over the years. Neil has held various leadership roles within the Australian Taxation practice, most recently as the National Tax Leader for the Australian firm. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, England and Wales and is also a UK Chartered Tax Adviser. Neil is a member of the Taxation Institute of Australia and was named one of Australia’s leading tax advisors in the annual International Tax Review Survey for five consecutive years from 1997 to 2001. Neil is married with three children and has many varied interests, including running, cycling, watching rugby union and listening to classical music. | Chief Operating Officer |
| Mary Waldron Mary Waldron is PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Managing Partner, Networks and a member of the PwC Firm Executive. Mary is responsible for all of our firm’s network and management relationship initiatives, and the Office Managing Partners report to Mary. She also works closely with our human capital leadership to advance our cultural journey, with an emphasis on the importance of developing networking and relationship skills. Mary has more than 20 years experience in providing audit assurance and advisory services to some of Australia's largest listed national and multinational public companies and has worked closely with senior executives and Directors in the Australian market. Mary is a Chartered Accountant and holds an honours degree in Economics and Social Studies from Trinity College Dublin and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and is a member of the Irish Institute of Chartered Accountants. Mary is a Director of the Australian Ireland Fund and the Melbourne Recital Centre. She is married to Malcolm, and they have two children. | Managing Partner, Networks |
| Ian Farmer Ian Farmer is the Managing Partner - Tax & Legal and a member of the Firm Executive. Ian is responsible for the strategic direction of the Tax & Legal business in Australia. Ian has been with the firm for over 20 years, and as a partner for the last 15, focusing on corporate and international tax services to Australian and overseas multi-nationals. Over the last four years, Ian has been a member of the Tax & Legal Leadership Team and was the Australian National Tax Leader for PricewaterhouseCoopers, prior to his appointment as Managing Partner in 1 July this year. With extensive experience in international tax, Ian has been involved in tax reform over the last 10 years, and had a lengthy term on the Board of Taxation Expert Advisory Panel. He continues to provide international and transactions-based services to a number of significant clients. Ian is married to Jenny and has two boys. | Sophie Crawford-Jones Sophie is the Human Capital Leader for PwC, and a member of the Firm Executive. She is responsible for leading the Human Capital team to partner with the business and develop a clear people strategy that maximises the performance of the firm. Since joining PwC in 2003, Sophie has also held the role of Director of Performance sitting across all PwC business lines, as well as overseeing Remuneration, Partner Human Capital, and Policy & Programs teams. Prior to PwC, she worked as an HR consultant, focusing on the banking sector in London, New York and Asia, and delivering on process re-engineering and restructures. Sophie holds a BA Hons degree in French with Business, from Kings College, London. | Pat McKeon Pat McKeon is the Managing Partner for Advisory Services and a member of the Firm Executive. He has led the Advisory business since 1 July 2006 and is responsible for growing the firm’s Performance Improvement and Transactions businesses across key Institutional and National Enterprise markets segments. Pat was previously the Chief Operating Officer of PwC Australia and was responsible for the finance, IT, operations, infrastructure and human capital functions of the Australian firm. Pat first joined PwC in November 2001 as Australian Human Capital Leader. Pat’s primary focus in this role was restructuring the Human Capital function to a shared services model and leading the high performance culture journey for the firm. Prior to joining PwC, Pat held senior HR Director positions at Whitbread plc and Airtours plc. | Luke Sayers Luke Sayers is the Managing Partner, Markets and a member of the Firm Executive. He is responsible for driving exceptional client service, building strong client relationships, engaging the marketplace and leading an integrated markets strategy across the firm. Luke has extensive international and Australian experience, especially in the InfoComm industry. After joining PwC in 1991, Luke worked in Australia for five years and then in the US for five years. Altogether he has over 15 years dedicated experience in the InfoComm industry with PwC in the United States, South America, Europe and Asia Pacific. Luke is qualified as a Chartered Accountant, and has Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and Bachelor of Computing (Information Systems) degrees from Monash University. Luke is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. Luke is an active supporter of the PwC Foundation, and is active in the community. He is a strong supporter and Board Member of EPIC, an organisation focused on the provision of early childhood intervention services to children with disabilities. | Managing Partner, Markets |
